 Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) & Sudden Infant Death Syndrome(SIDS) Training

The (SBS) training is designed to meet the new child care licensing rules which started on April 1, 2007.  The course will address the effects of SBS and how to prevent it.  This class meets the training requirements and is approved by the Department of Health and Family Services and the Department of Workforce Development.

The (SIDS) training uses the curriculum from the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Fundamentals of Family Child Care

This course is required for all certified and licensed family child care providers.  The course provides essential information about establishing a family child care business that is in accordance with Wisconsin's State Law.This course will meet the State of Wisconsin licensing rule requirement for training in business practices for  "regular" certified and licensed family child care providers.

⇒Students are required to attend all 12 hours and receive a passing grade in order to receive certificates.

Fundamental of Infant and Toddler Care

This course includes Saken Baby Syndrome (SBS) and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) training. This course applies to family and group providers who care for infants and toddlers.  This course provides requirements and practices for entry level child care providers who work with infants and toddlers.

This course is designed to provide training on the recognition and reporting of child abuse and neglect for professionals mandated to report suspected child maltreatment.

Proper recognition and reporting is a fundamental first step in addressing the tragedy of child abuse.
Child abuse is a major national concern. Studies show that each year over one million children are abused or neglected by their parents.

How to Child Proof Your Home

 

Child & Infant CPR and AED 

Duration: 4.20 hours,   Fee: $40,  Date & Time: CALL

 Description: This course give individuals the knowledge and skills necessary to act in emergency situations and to recognize the care for life-threatening respiratory cardiac emergencies in children and infants.

To teach the skills and knowledge needed to provide care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest through the safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

 

First Aid

Duration: 3.40 hours,   Fee: $25,  Date & Time: CALL

Description: This course give individuals the knowledge and skills necessary to give care in emergency, help sustain life and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until medical help arrives.

Bloodborne Pathogens

Duration:2 hrs,   Fee: $20,  Date & Time: CALL

 Bloodborne Pathogens Training (Preventing Disease Transmission) is designed to train and provide individuals with an understanding of the intent of the blood borne pathogens regulation issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA); how blood borne pathogens are spread; how to help prevent exposure incidents by following work practice controls, using engineering controls and personal protective equipment, practicing good personal hygiene and properly cleaning and disinfecting equipment and supplies; and to recognize, report and follow up on employee exposures to infectious materials.

All courses are taught by Red Cross Certified Instructors.

Adult CPR, AED and re-certification trainings are available upon request.

 

Class Registration Policies

  • Class sizes are limited to 11 students with a minimum of 5 students. You will be notified if the class has not reached the minimum, if the class is full or if the class is canceled because of inclement weather and a full refund will be given. You will be notified by phone.
  • You may register for classes on-line, by mail or in person. Acceptable forms of payment are: on-line credit or debt card payment, business check, money order or cashiers check. Registration and payment must be received at least 3 days prior to the start of any class. A full refund is given if Networx receives notice of cancellation 5 days prior to the class date. Consider yourself enrolled in the class when you have sent in your registration and payment unless Networx notifies you.
  • You are responsible for being present during the entire class in order to receive your certificates. You will not be allowed to participate in a class 15 minutes after the class has begun. There will be NO REFUNDS for failure to attend the class.
  • You must pass the class according to the guidelines given for each class. If you do not pass the class, it must be re-taken in order to receive your certificate. NO REFUNDS are given for failing classes.
  • There is a $35 fee for all returned checks.
  • Children are not allowed to attend classes.
