This training is designed to update early childhood professionals on the latest guidelines for hand hygiene within early childhood settings. Participants will explore the history of hand washing, learn practical techniques, and understand how to effectively implement proper hand hygiene practices in their classrooms or child care programs. Emphasis will be placed on both hand washing and the appropriate use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers, along with strategies for teaching young children these critical habits. Course Objectives: By the end of this course, participants will be able to: Understand the historical perspective of hand washing. Apply proper hand-washing techniques in the classroom. Know when it is appropriate to use alcohol-based hand sanitizers. Teach proper hand-washing techniques to children. Implement a plan to ensure consistent hand washing within their classrooms or programs.
