This course provides entry level knowledge and skills for those who are beginning to or intend to care for children in licensed group or family child care. Participants will explore the rules and regulations governing licensed group and licensed family child care along with the responsibilities of a child care providers. This course fulfills introductory non-credit course requirements as specified in DCF Chapters 250 and 251 for licensed family and group child care in Wisconsin's Administrative Code.

This course is required for all certified and licensed family child care providers. The course provides essential information about establishing a family child care business that is in accordance with Wisconsin's State Law. This course will meet the State of Wisconsin licensing rule requirement for training in business practices for "regular" certified and licensed family child care providers.
Students are required to attend all 12 hours and receive a passing grade in order to receive certificates.

*Blended (Online/Face-to-face/Virtual)
Courses are designed for those who want some face to face interaction with their instructor. Blended/Face to face time is meeting virtually once a week for the duration of the course. Students will be given access to the online course page and will be required to download or print the course material and have it available during class. All materials and videos will be available through the online course page, so internet access will be required to successfully complete the course. Students are expected to complete coursework on their own, outside of class time.
